"We can't change the past, so we change how people are thinking, feeling and behaving today."
-Albert Ellis

I provide individual counseling to adults (age 18 and above), specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a structured, directive, and short-term therapy that has been heavily researched and proven to be the most effective type of treatment for a wide range of problems and conditions. While traditional forms of therapy typically focus on early childhood experiences and past traumas, CBT is focused on the present and is very goal-oriented and solution focused. You will learn self-help skills and positive coping strategies through the use of exercises and homework assignments to change thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Because treatment is so active and focused, improvement is typically noticeable much sooner than in other talk therapies. The best thing about CBT is that it teaches you skills that you can then use the rest of your life.

Many clients have sought CBT through me as alternative to medication. This is because research has indicated that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy alone can be as effective as medication for the treatment of mild to moderate, non-psychotic disorders. For those who worry about potential side effects of medication, CBT can be a great alternative. With CBT, you are not just treating symptoms, you are learning skills that may change or reduce your symptoms and condition for good.

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment and hospital fees.

Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a "Good Faith Estimate" in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
